Mutahhida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain’s arrest in London on suspicion of money laundering & prompt supportive action of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif

The news about MQM Chief Altaf Hussain arrest spread like a wildfire through electronic media at about 12.0 noon on Tuesday 3rd June 2014 that’s engulfed across the country within no time.

The life that’s were moving routinely got a jolt and stopped with a jerk, whoever heard the news made him/ her stunned - nobody at the outset were believing that what happened and how?

The markets, shopping malls, business centers, offices, banks, customs, public transport, schools & colleges, petrol stations across the city started to shutter down.

Karachi stock exchange immediately took the impact, business transactions stopped & immediately declined of 780 points.

Crowd who were in the market, scattered terrifyingly, some got into the cars and others moved towards bus & Taxi stands to leave the place. The environment however was very panicky among almost Business centers in Karachi and no one was talking others but just moving and try to leave the place without spoil of time.

Not only in Karachi but entire Sind province where MQM has a good stakes or its electoral constituencies also started to close their business. Within one or two hours people came out in protest asking to release MQM leader Altaf Hussain otherwise a sit-in will be initiated said by a leader of the Business community in Hyderabad.

Media also covered the tense developed in Tandoadam/ Tandoalayar/ Mirpurkhas/ Khairpur/ Naushero/ Jamshoro/ Nawabshah/ Sukkur & in other part of Sind province, even in Islamabad & Rawalpindi took the procession by evening.

MQM workers, well-wishers and supporters rushed immediately to 90 MQM secretariat in Azizabad where MQM Rabta committee member called immediate meeting where sitting minsters provincial and national assembly gathered & addressed with their workers and supporter to maintain peace & party disciplines in their ranks, keep sight if anybody not abiding the law & marring the city life, said MQM leaders.

Urging the workers to do a peaceful protest in support of their Quaid Altaf Hussain for his early recovery as he has been under medical treatment since months.

The media got a burning topic at their TV Talk shows & immediate discussion among political analysts started regarding Altaf Hussain arrest by Scotland Yard police from North West London on suspicion of money laundering and taking him at police station London.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had been under treatment for diabetic, liver dysfunctional, he was getting ready for the hospital for prescheduled appointment that police entered at his house and arrested him, the MQM Chief was brought to the police station where he would be questioned and his health would be examined said by MQM coordination committee.
 
Governor Sind Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad also asked P.M & Minister of Interior to help in release of MQM chief Altaf Hussain, both however has assured the Governor to support.
 
Further, PM Nawaz Sharif during parliamentary party meeting asked its PML-N parliamentarians to refrain and avoid of remarks or statement as Altaf Hussain case is sensitive and the government will review legal implications that will be resolved according to the law. 
 
PM also asked Pakistani ambassador in London to extend full support morally and legally to Altaf Hussain giving him counselling services the report said.
 
People ‘extreme anger’ has been erupted in twin cities of Sind (Karachi/ Hyderabad), more than dozen of vehicles have been torched. Trade and business union have announced for not to bring transport at the road and a general closure of business will be observed across the province, reported media.
 
People sit-in are continued at different places in Karachi and Hyderabad, in support of Altaf Hussain, holding play cards and poster demanding to release Altaf Hussain immediately.
 
And the Sit-in will never end until Altaf Hussain speaks them, said by MQM leaders responding to a question asked by media at Numaish Chowrangi Karachi, if we hear the voice of Altaf Hussain (our leader) we will end our sit-in asserted by MQM leader. The number of protesters participating in sit-in are increasing by every passing hour, TV channel reported.
